Mythos is a publication dedicated to the exploration and retelling of mythology

Hello, and welcome to Mythos, a place to explore how mythology and magic influence our everyday lives.

-Letter From the Editor-

Mythos was born from the marriage of my passions and my experience. I’ve always shown an interest in storytelling (particularly fiction), and after years of working in the magazine industry, I decided to chase my dream of founding my own publication based on myths and lore.

I decided on the topic of mythology because: a) it’s awesome; and b) I have a degree in anthropology as well as a degree in creative writing, so I have to put those expensive papers to use somehow.

In all seriousness, this publication is an extension of my greatest love, and I’m so happy to share this space with you. I hope you find the topics and stories shared here as intriguing as I do, and I hope you’re interested in sharing your own thoughts and ideas.

-What We Publish-

Aside from our regular digital stories, we publish a literary and artistic journal where each issue focuses on a particular mythological creature or character. Contributors are encouraged to explore the themes of these figures and let them be the muse to their chosen medium.

It’s my hope that these myths continue to live through our artforms and that we, as creators, don’t lose touch with the idea that there’s a little magic around us everywhere we go.

Jordan Nishkian, Editor in Chief

Although she’s been writing since she could hold a pen, Jordan Nishkian still struggles with creating a decent bio for herself. She is the founder and editor in chief of mythos and the co-founder and artistic director of ink and quill publications.
